Primary Care Services
There are other services provided by our nurses and other professionals to complement the medical work of the doctors:
Cervical Smears
Every 3 or 5 years depending age and history in line with local/national policy, by appointment with a practice nurse. Please tell the receptionist if your appointment is for a smear as more time may be needed and paperwork needs preparing.
Counselling
By referral from your doctor to the local service commissioned by Calderdale PCT.
Diabetic Care
For regular review of diabetic patients by Dr Chaudhry or Nurse Janet, and podiatrist. You will be notified when your review is due. Book your appointments for your blood tests and your review appointment by contacting reception.
Ear Irrigation
Below is a copy of our ear irrigation patient leaflet. If you feel that your ear(s) need irrigating, please read the leaflet, printing off a copy (2 pages) if necessary.
As we operate a waiting list process for this procedure, please let us know as soon as possible so we can add you to the list.

Family Planning
By appointment or arrangements with a practice nurse. Contraception services for all patients are given on a totally confidential basis.
Maternity Care
The initial assessment of your maternity care needs will be carried out by the midwife. If appropriate you will attend antenatal clinic with the midwife for regular checks. This clinic is no longer held at the Practice, your midwife will confirm the date, time and location of your antenatal appointment. Contact your midwife on 01422 261364 or 07795825064.
Minor Surgery
By appointment with your doctor for appropriate conditions, Friday afternoon 2.15 – 3.15pm. You must see your doctor for assessment before you are given an appointment.
Smoking Cessation
Please contact Calderdale QUIT Smoking Service to arrange an appointment 01422 281505.
Travel Vaccinations & Travel Advice
Are available from our practice nurses. When you are planning your trip overseas, please collect our travel information leaflet from reception well in advance as vaccinations need planning and you need to be aware of the charges.
Dental Care
If you have a dental problem you need to visit your dentist. If you do not have a dentist, you should contact the local Dental Helpline on 01422 281576; for urgent dental treatment contact the Emergency Dental Service on 0845 122 0221. We do not deal with dental problems at the surgery.
