During the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic, the practice is adhering to British Society for Haematology (BSH) guidelines which advise that "Liver stores last for a year and hence levels of B12 will not be affected if one or two 3xmonthly injection is omitted in patients on maintenance parenteral B12 supplements. BSH supports omitting B12 injections even in this group [not thought to be diet related] during COVID19 outbreak at least until the surge has passed."

Please find below King Cross Surgery's home blood pressure readings sheet. Please print this off, complete if you have been asked to by a clinician and return to the Surgery.

Cervical Smears

Every 3 or 5 years depending age and history in line with local/national policy, by appointment with a practice nurse. Please tell the receptionist if your appointment is for a smear as more time may be needed and paperwork needs preparing.


By referral from your doctor to the local service commissioned by Calderdale PCT.

Diabetic Care

For regular review of diabetic patients by a GP or Nurse Janet, and podiatrist. You will be notified when your review is due.  Book your appointments for your blood tests and your review appointment by contacting reception.

Ear Irrigation

We no longer offer this service. Please read the leaflet below which explains how to take care of your ears and what to do to disperse a build up of wax. If your ear(s) still feel blocked after 4 weeks of following this self-care, please call us for an appointment to have your ear(s) assessed.

Family Planning

By appointment or arrangements with a practice nurse. Contraception services for all patients are given on a totally confidential basis.

The initial assessment of your maternity care needs will be carried out by the midwife. If appropriate you will attend antenatal clinic with the midwife for regular checks. This clinic is no longer held at the Practice, your midwife will confirm the date, time and location of your antenatal appointment. From Tuesday 4th May pregnant women wishing to book their maternity care with Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust will be directed to use their website: Follow this link and complete the form to create a log in. Once registered you will be contacted by a member of the team within 3 working days to arrange your first midwife appointment. Anyone who need further help or is unable to access the My Pregnancy Notes online can still contact the midwife team on 01422 2613351 or 01484 355731. Leave a message and a member of the team will be in touch within 3 working days. 

Minor Surgery

By appointment with your doctor for appropriate conditions, Friday afternoon 2.15 – 3.15pm. You must see your doctor for assessment before you are given an appointment.

Smoking Cessation

Please contact Calderdale QUIT Smoking Service to arrange an appointment  01422 281505.

Travel Vaccinations & Travel Advice

Are available from our practice nurses.  When you are planning your trip overseas, please collect our travel information leaflet from reception at least 3 months before you travel as vaccinations need planning and you need to be aware of the charges.

Dental Care

If you have a dental problem you need to visit your dentist. If you do not have a dentist, you should contact the local Dental Helpline on 01422 281576; for urgent dental treatment contact the Emergency Dental Service on 0845 122 0221. We do not deal with dental problems at the surgery.
